Quality slimline stackable rainwater tank

Compliance

Modtank is designed and manufactured to comply with and exceed the objectives set out in Australian Standard 4766.This standard is written around traditional rotary molding of linear low density polyethylene water tanks, whilst Modtank is blow moulded.
Modtank is made in Australia in an AS/NZS 9001 compliant manufacturing facility.
We believe Blow moulding is a superior process compared to Rotary moulding for the following reasons;

  • Blow moulding enables the choice of superior resins. Modtank is moulded from virgin high density polyethylene (HDPE).
  • HDPE has a better strength and impact characteristics than rotary moulded LLPE.
  • HDPE maintains a higher strength at higher temperatures than LLPE.\
  • Blow moulding provides very high repeatability of attributes between products.\
  • Blow moulding eliminates the possibility of porosity in the tank wall.\
  • Blow moulding eliminates the possibility of unintended thick or thin areas due to hot or cold areas whilst moulding.
  • Blow moulding is not affected by variations in atmospheric temperature or humidity.
  • Blow moulding is better for the environment because is uses less than half the energy compared to rotary moulding.

Modtank has been type tested using hydrostatic regression testing, and has an indicated hydrostatic life in excess of 50 years.
Modtank are sealed to one another using durable elastomer seals, similar to that used by all Australian water authorities to seal water reticulation systems.
